The inner courtyard is enclosed by the 8 curtain walls; each tower sits at a corner and projects OUTWARD (its body on the exterior side of the wall line); the two open faces form a clear gap/doorway in the wall, facing the interior courtyard. Walls are left unfilled at the opening (no apex corner). A half-wall runs straight out in line with one open face, from the tower edge to the keep-side midpoint.

Wall’s thickness / crenellations sit on exterior. Battlements/corbel face the keep exterior; The wall’s flat inner face is on the courtyard side, flush with the tower’s inner (opening) face plane.
